Baseball Betting Lines

08/21/2010 - Miami, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Chris Volstad pitched into the seventh inning and the Marlins got two RBI apiece from Gaby Sanchez, Cody Ross and Wes Helms in a 6-3 win over the Houston Astros.

Volstad (7-9) gave up five hits, two runs, walked three and fanned six batters for Florida, which took the opener of this three-game series, 9-0, on Friday. Ross and Helms had back-to-back triples for the Marlins, who have captured a season-high five in a row and have won 10 of the last 11 at home against Houston.

Wandy Rodriguez (9-12) fanned 10 batters over six frames, but yielded seven hits and three runs -- two earned -- and lost for the first time in seven starts. The left-hander had won six of his last seven decisions.

Carlos Lee had a two-run single in the first inning for the Astros, who have lost six consecutive road games. Angel Sanchez singled in a run in the ninth inning off closer Leo Nunez. Houston had runners at first and third, but Hunter Pence struck out to end the game.

The Astros carried a 2-0 lead to the sixth inning, but Rodriguez gave up a single to Sanchez to start the frame. Dan Uggla then reached first base partly due to an error from third baseman Chris Johnson. With one out, Ross tripled to the gap in right-center field and Helms followed with a three-bagger to the left field corner to give the Marlins the lead.

Houston had runners at first and second the next inning, but Jose Veras got Angel Sanchez to ground into a fielder's choice to end the frame.

Gaby Sanchez doubled off Mark Melancon in the bottom half to drive in Hanley Ramirez and Logan Morrison. Helms added an RBI single.
