Liverpool will not appeal Cole red card

08/16/2010 - Liverpool, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Liverpool have decided not to appeal against the red card dished out to Joe Cole in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday.

Cole, who was making his league debut for the Reds, was shown a straight red card just before halftime for a late challenge on Laurent Koscielny, leaving manager Roy Hodgson to ponder an appeal.

However, the Merseysiders have now accepted the decision of referee Martin Atkinson and Cole will sit out Premier League clashes with Manchester City, West Bromwich and Birmingham.
