Cardinals activate Lohse to make Sunday start

Lohse has been out since late May due to right forearm surgery. He had missed a total of 68 games during his time on the disabled list.

In nine starts prior to going on the DL, Lohse went 1-4 with a 5.89 ERA. He will start Sunday's game against the Cubs.

To make room on the roster, the club optioned pitcher Fernando Salas to Triple-A Memphis. He held no record and a 2.51 ERA in 12 relief appearances for the Cardinals this season.

Although the Golden Bears are listed as 7.5-point favorites, the Sun Devils are 3-0, lead the nation in sacks with 18 and possess the Pac-10's leading passer in sophomore quarterback Rudy Carpenter.
